Daily Mob

One hidden mob is waiting to be identified, and you get 6 tries. Everyone gets the same mob on a given day, and the puzzle changes at the start of the next day. Type a mob's name into the box and pick it from the suggestions that appear. Names that don't match any mob can't be submitted.

A mob you already guessed is removed from the suggestions, so you can't pick the same one twice. After 6 misses the game ends and the answer is revealed. Win or lose, you can share that round's result as a small text grid.

Each guess fills in five columns: type, hostile/passive, spawn place or method, width and height. Green means a match, yellow means close, and gray means no match. All five hints can match for different mobs; only the correct name wins the round.

Width and height show the guessed mob’s own value. The arrow points up if the answer is bigger, or down if smaller. A difference of 0.5 or less is yellow. Spawn worlds are green for an exact match, yellow when at least one world overlaps, and gray when there is no overlap.

Spawn place means the worlds where a mob appears naturally or in structures. Moving mobs through portals, player-placed spawners and ordinary breeding are excluded. Mobs without natural spawning show their method instead: summoning, construction, breeding, hatching or conversion. Endermites come from pearls; zoglins form outside the Nether. Iron golems show the Overworld because of villages, although players can build them elsewhere. Method labels are green only when identical. Type is a coarse minecraft-data grouping, not an official Minecraft classification.

Q. What happens if I run out of guesses?
A. The puzzle ends after 6 misses and shows the answer. While this tab stays open, the finished result is kept and the same puzzle cannot be replayed.

Q. Can I play past puzzles?
A. Yes, using the link to the previous day's puzzle shown after a round ends. Playing a past puzzle doesn't update your streak.

Q. Where is my streak stored?
A. Your streak stays in your browser and is never sent anywhere. Guesses are saved separately for each date while this tab remains open, so switching languages keeps your guesses, remaining tries and result. If browser storage is blocked, leaving the page may lose the round. Streaks do not carry over to another device or browser.

Q. Where does the data come from?
A. Mob type and size come from minecraft-data (MIT license). Names and images come from Mojang game data. Spawn places are based on the Java Edition data bundled with this game, including biome, structure and summoning rules. Giants, illusioners and zombie horses remain in the pool even though they do not spawn in normal survival in that dataset.
