How to use these
This page collects four tools that turn a shape, a circle, an ellipse, a cylinder, or a sphere, into a block-by-block blueprint for building in Minecraft. Once the target shape is known, its page allows a diameter, or width and depth, or height, to be entered, and immediately builds the grid that shows exactly where to place each block.
A circle or ellipse suits a flat floor or a window pattern, a cylinder suits a tower or a pillar where height matters, and a sphere suits a dome or a roof with roundness in every direction. If it is not obvious which one to pick, start with whichever shape looks closest to the target build and adjust the numbers while watching the blueprint update.
Each shape page already starts with a default value filled in, so it is worth checking how the blueprint looks before changing anything, and then adjusting the diameter, or width, depth, and height to match the actual build afterward.
Thin, thick, and filled explained
The circle, ellipse, and cylinder pages all offer three styles. Filled covers the whole interior as a solid plane, thin keeps only a one-block outline, and thick widens that outline slightly to smooth over small steps that thin leaves visible.
The sphere page only offers thin. Because a sphere cross-section changes size at every layer, deciding how the outline of one layer should meet the next is not as simple as it is for a flat shape, so only the hollow shell version is available for now.
Frequently asked questions
- Which shape should be picked when unsure? Picture the finished build first: flat leans toward a circle or ellipse, tall and vertical leans toward a cylinder, and rounded in every direction leans toward a sphere.
- Does a larger shape make the page slow? The blueprint itself is just a grid of numbers, so the page stays responsive, but a larger shape does mean more blocks to gather before building it in the game.
- Where can the total block count be seen? Every shape page shows the total alongside the blueprint, converted into stacks of 64 with a remainder, so it can be checked before heading out to gather materials.
- Can thin, thick, and filled be changed after the fact? Switching the render style rebuilds the blueprint immediately, so the different looks can be compared without touching the diameter or any other number.
