How to use this
Enter a seed and this page finds the Nether fortress closest to spawn. The coordinates given are Nether coordinates. If you want the matching Overworld location, multiply both the X and Z values by 8, since one block in the Nether corresponds to eight blocks in the Overworld.
You reach the Nether through a Nether portal built in the Overworld. Portals link to a matching position on the other side automatically, so building your portal close to the target coordinates makes travel faster.

About Nether fortresses
A Nether fortress is a maze of bridges and corridors built from nether brick, and it is the only place where you will meet blazes, wither skeletons, and magma cubes.
Blaze rods, dropped by blazes, are essential for brewing potions and for crafting eyes of ender. Eyes of ender are used both to locate a stronghold and to activate the End portal, which makes a trip to a Nether fortress an important step toward gearing up for later goals.
Wither skeletons have a small chance of dropping their skull when killed. That skull is a required ingredient for summoning the Wither, and it is hard to obtain any other way.
It is worth knowing that a Nether fortress and a bastion remnant do not generate in the same area. Checking the bastion remnant page for the same seed shows how the two structures divide up the map.

Q. Does the same seed give the same location on Bedrock Edition?
A. No. Bedrock Edition uses a different world generation algorithm than Java Edition, so the same seed produces different terrain and different structure locations. This tool calculates positions for Java Edition only.

A. Yes, blazes attack from range with fireballs and lava is common throughout the structure. It is worth bringing a fire resistance potion and a water bucket before heading in.

A. Nether fortresses branch out in three dimensions, which makes them easy to get turned around in. Placing marker blocks as you go, or keeping track of the route you took, helps a lot.
