Find Village coordinates from a seed. Results are ordered by straight-line distance from (0, 0), so you can compare locations before you explore.
Enter a seed and this page finds the village closest to spawn in that world. If there is more than one village within range, they are listed in order of distance.
Coordinates are given as block X and Z values. Press F3 in game to see your own position as numbers, then walk toward the target coordinates from there.
If you want to see the wider terrain around that seed, open the seed map page to view the biome layout for the same world.
Villages generate in several biomes, including plains, desert, savanna, taiga, and snowy biomes. The biome a village generates in changes the look of its buildings and the type of wood used.
Villagers each hold a job, and the job depends on the type of workstation placed near them, such as a furnace, cartography table, or loom. Different jobs offer different trades, which makes a village useful for gathering tools and food before you build your own base.
Iron golems sometimes guard a village and will fight off monsters they spot. At night, zombies can wander in and turn unprotected villagers into zombie villagers. Also worth knowing: entering a village while under the Bad Omen effect, gained from killing a raid captain, triggers a raid.
Trading with villagers uses emeralds as currency, and prices change the more you trade with the same villager, so it can be worth spreading your trades across a few of them if a village has more than one villager with the profession you need.
Q. I do not see a village at the coordinates shown.
A. The coordinates mark the reference point used to generate the village, not necessarily the exact spot every building sits on. Because the buildings can spread across nearby chunks, uneven terrain sometimes leaves part of the village missing or shifted a short distance away. Try walking around the area before assuming nothing generated there.
Q. Does the same seed give the same village location on Bedrock Edition?
A. No. Bedrock Edition generates worlds with a different algorithm than Java Edition, so the same seed produces different terrain and different structure locations. This tool calculates positions for Java Edition only.
Q. Why do I sometimes see two villages right next to each other?
A. Villages are placed by picking a candidate spot inside each cell of a fixed grid. On some seeds, the candidate spots in two neighboring cells both satisfy the conditions for a village, and the two end up close enough to look like one larger settlement.
Q. I reached the coordinates but there is no village there.
A. A candidate spot only becomes a village if the biome at that location meets the requirements. The coordinates this tool shows are the candidate spot, not a guarantee, so you still need to check the location in game to confirm a village actually generated.
